God’s Work Vs. Family Responsibility – 

What if I’m doing something worthwhile in a non-profit organization but my wife resents it? Isn’t doing meaningful service always a good thing? No, our first responsibility is to our own family – not to everyone else in the world. Listen to why it can’t be justified.

My wife says that she hasn’t seen many people teaching other people and trying to save the world go very well in family life…many divorces, child rebellion etc. 

This is tough. How do we balance our family responsibility with our desire to do good work and help other people. The opportunity to help a lot of people is extremely rewarding. But, I have a responsibility to serve my family first. Three resources to help answer these questions:

After failing a job performance review at a company he worked for for 26 years, my husband is faced, at the age of 64, with coming up with a new career! 

Make sure there are other people in his sphere of influence who are talking into him. Encourage him to take a fresh look at who he is and what makes him come alive.

How do I best help my husband increase his confidence? He is depressed, he longs for something fulfilling.
