I’m pretty sure I’m insane….

A listener admits to crippling fear that’s holding him back from pursuing any new ideas. We can welcome fear as a healthy thing as long as we keep it in the back seat of our car, and out of the driver’s seat. Which of the 7 Fear Types is most dominant for you?

Episode #666 May 31, 2019 –

Hi, this is Dan Miller – and yes you’re listening to the 48 Days Radio show – where each week we take 48 minutes to dive into real life questions about finding your passion, deciding what kind of life you want to live – and then finding or creating work that allows you to show up every day, excited to be able to do something that is meaningful, fulfilling – and profitable.  This is where normal, indecision and ambiguity come to die.  Welcome to the 48 Days Radio Show.

I’m pretty sure that I am insane. The only problem is that the “fear, I’m not worthy, I’m gonna look stupid” side takes up about 95% of my brain. Currently I feel empty, bored, not fulfilled and tired. At 50 years old I know I was created for more.

What does it mean to really be insane?

There’s a brand new book out by Ruth Soukup, Do It Scared. She identifies seven different patterns of fear types. Take her free assessment here. 48 Days Eagles can watch the replay of our Monday Mentor call with her.

A few notes about hiring a coach: A recent study shows that two-thirds of CEOs are not receiving coaching outside of their company, but 100% wish they were.

I am always in a coaching program of some kind. I am a big believer in the process of coaching. I talk about the idea of investing 3-5% of your income into personal development. I don’t believe you can expect to grow or change without having a budgeted amount of your income going back into personal development. I think it’s a matter of priorities.
