Hi this is Dan Miller – and yes you’re listening to the 48 Days Radio show – where each week we take 48 minutes to dive into real life questions about finding your passion, deciding what kind of life you want to live – and then finding or creating work that allows you to show up every day, excited to be able to do something that is meaningful, fulfilling – and profitable. This is where normal, indecision and ambiguity come to die. Welcome to the 48 Days Radio Show.
Questions:
Do you want to live your life, or will you continue living your past story?
Hear more of Tommy Breedlove’s story about how he let go of the wounds of the past and began to control the end of his story at the age of 36.
He had the money, title, and prestige but was still unhappy. He began to feel again and figure out who he really was.
Tommy is quick to point out that this is an ongoing process. Finding your purpose is work that you have to choose to do each day.
What are the three components of finding your purpose?
Tommy agrees that we are all here for a purpose. That purpose changes throughout the seasons of our life.
He provides a three-pronged formula for finding your purpose: 1. What are your God-given talents (the things people come to you for advice)? 2. What do you truly enjoy doing? 3. What does the world need?
How can we combat the tendency to see doing many things as a strength?
How can people surround themselves with people whose skills complement their own without having a big payroll?
What is a “money mindset” required to be entrusted with wealth?
“Money is not just about practical tactical tools of budgeting, investing, cash flow, real estate and building a company. We also need to train our hearts and mind muscles to believe that there is enough money out there for all of us. We don’t have to compete or conquer to get it, and we have to believe that we’re worthy enough and money is going to come to us easily, frequently and abundantly.”
How do we move past our limiting beliefs, particularly those we’ve grown up with?
- Read everything you can get your hands on about money, money mindsets, investing, the law of attraction, self-improvement, and self-development, etc.
- Read about people that inspire you — people who grew up humbly and are wealthy.
- Develop and cultivate a space for unconditional love for yourself. We all have feelings of insecurity.
- You are the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Start surrounding yourself with people who love and support you and are working to better themselves.
How do we attract and develop relationships with the people we want in our Inner Circle?
First, you have to look at those around you. You know instantly if someone brings you down or lifts you up. When you start doing the self-development work, other like-minded people will appear in your life.
“You need to surround yourself with people who make you better.”
Start with one person in your life that is loving and supportive. That’s the start of your Inner Circle.
When someone inspires you, ask them for a cup of coffee or send them an email, but don’t ask if you can pick your brain. Find out what currency you can bring to them. Come from a place of service.
“You’ve got to believe that you are worthy to be successful, happy, fulfilled and surrounding yourself with great people.”
Why is practicing gratitude so important?
It gets us in the present moment and makes us grateful for what we do have (instead of what we don’t have or wish we had).
When you find yourself getting angry, scared or insecure, immediately stop, take a deep breath and say something you’re thankful for. It will eventually rewire your heart your mind and your soul.
