Great advice on being a travel agent! Excellent example too.
I have a client who is a retired high school history teacher. He retired after 39 years and started planning group trips to historic places. He has a couple of dozen trips under his belt in the first two years.
He is now 64+ years old with no signs of slowing down. He has 8 trips remaining this year and 4 more already planned for next year!
Jodey,
Thanks – your client sounds like he understands the power of doing group trips. My guy is certainly doing well at that.
Dan, looking at the big picture, wouldn’t it be better if Tom transitioned his employees into entrepreneurs? Seems like they would have gained a ton more knowledge and would be be very grateful to Tom for that, which in turn would make them much more respectful of folks who own their own business? Sounds pretty exciting to me. Kinda risky, yet exciting. 🙂 Also, I love cars too and always thought I would be good at buying and selling them, wanna start looking for some good buys and sell a few with me? 🙂
I love your advice about “not killing the goose that lays the golden egg.” It’s easy to get excited and want to move on!
