Your Story Deserves to be Told…Beautifully.
Whether you’re crafting your first manuscript or your fifth, we work with passionate authors who know their words matter but want expert help shaping them into their most powerful form.
From visionary entrepreneurs sharing their wisdom to creative spirits bringing fictional worlds to life, we partner with writers who value both technical excellence and authentic expression.
What We Offer
We serve as both editors and guides, helping writers transform their manuscripts into works they can truly celebrate. Beyond essential editing for grammar, spelling, and structure, we’re committed to nurturing your unique voice while elevating your work to professional standards.
Our approach weaves together technical expertise with creative intuition. As a “writing doula,” we provide both emotional encouragement and professional guidance throughout your creative birthing process. Drawing on years of teaching, coaching, and writing, we offer insights into what publishers look for while honoring the integrity of your vision.
We are 48 Days Press
48 Days Press is a division of 48Days.com. We are a full-service book editing company that provides basic editing services, plus a network of resources, from outline/development coaching and front-end vision organization to marketing and podcasting.
We offer:
Our Process
Beginning Our Journey
- Start by completing the form below to clarify timelines and expectations and lay the foundation for our work together. You can upload any materials that will help us better understand what you’re looking for.
- Our collaboration starts with a conversation—by phone, Zoom, or FaceTime—where we explore your vision and see if we’re a good fit. You’ll meet with the team member(s) who are the best fit for your project. This initial meeting helps us understand the heart of your project and your aspirations.
Development & Refinement
After the meeting, we’ll follow up with a proposal outlining what we can offer, a timeline, and a quote.
Our editing process flows through several phases:
Developmental Guidance – Strengthening your manuscript’s structure, flow, and narrative elements
Content Enhancement – Refining your ideas while preserving your authentic voice
Technical Editing – Polishing grammar, syntax, and consistency
Final Refinement – Adding what one client beautifully described as “music to my words”
Throughout our work together, we offer regular check-ins and feedback sessions. Our commitment goes beyond technical corrections—we advocate for you, celebrating your strengths while gently highlighting opportunities for growth.
*Bonus – beyond editing, we have access to brand development, marketing, podcast creation, graphics, and illustrations…check out our team members below!
The Experience
Working with us differs from conventional editing services. We don’t simply correct your manuscript; we help you discover its fullest potential. Our clients often say our collaboration helped them uncover depths in their writing they didn’t know existed.
Whether you’re crafting your first book or your tenth, we bring the technical expertise and creative insight needed to prepare your manuscript for the world. Together, we’ll create a work that honors your vision while meeting professional publishing standards.
Investment
We’ve coached writers, edited, proofread, and endorsed books for decades. Joanne has authored Creating a Haven of Peace, Be Your Finest Art, and five children’s books. The majority of our team has extensive experience in blogging and newsletters, has been guests on many podcasts, and has led many writers’ and business workshops.
Our goal is to help others see they have more inside them than they think. When those words come pouring out, we’ll work with you to ensure the message is delivered well. We will help you create a manuscript of which you can be proud.
Editing is not just a financial investment, but also a significant time investment. Rarely does a manuscript need only a simple copyedit. Most manuscripts we receive require structural and content development and may take 30 minutes to an hour to edit per page.
Every manuscript has its own unique requirements, and while most authors want to know the financial investment our services entail, it is impossible to provide an accurate quote until we have a clear assessment of the project’s complexity.
After our Zoom meeting, we will send a follow-up with an editing example so you know exactly what we can deliver.
Here are some guidelines, so you know what to expect from our team of experts:
Core Idea Extraction with Kevin Miller
Many people write books. A select few authors have an idea they become known for. Most authors come to 48 Days Press with their manuscript largely written. The core idea is usually in there, and often not yet clear. Before editing begins, Kevin will help you discern, discover, and extract this core essence, so our editors can shape every chapter to drive it home.
Editorial Coaching & Assessment
Just getting started? If you need guidance on getting started, organizing, and developing ideas, we can begin with one or more coaching sessions.
Session One = $400 for a one-hour session
Additional coaching hours are billed at $275/hour.

*Our editors often collaborate for different sections or are able to take a manuscript from start to finish. While we highlight the “sweet spots” below, all our editors can cover a wide range of areas!
The Foundation
Ilea Dorsey Angaza works with clients who need to organize and develop their stories. If you have ideas, journal entries, random chapters, and/or thoughts and need to put structure to your project, she is a pro. She is an excellent writing and editing coach and will prepare your manuscript for the next step: copy and line editing.
Expect this investment to be $2,500–$5,000.
Draft Development
Joanne Miller excels at developing stories and ideas, focusing on the big picture: plot, character/scene details, theme, transitions, and much more. A lifelong reader, writer, and wordsmith, she helps evaluate how to make a manuscript flow with clarity and readability. This process includes line and copy edits and prepares your first draft for formatting and final proofreading.
Expect this investment to range from $3,000 to $5,500.
Line and Copy Edit
Spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, redundancy, and clarity require a thorough manuscript cleanup before formatting and submission to a publisher.
Expect this investment to be $2800–$3800
Final Polish
This is required for submission to a publisher. Ashley Miller Logsdon knows how to give any manuscript a final polish. An excellent proofreader, she is also tech-savvy and knows what publishers require for submission. She will work with you to format and prepare your manuscript for layout while checking for final details you may have missed in the first draft.
Expect this investment to be $1500–$2500.
NOTE
Although we make allowances for deadlines, you can usually expect a minimum of 6–8 weeks from start to completion, depending on the scope of work needed.

She specializes in the final polish that transforms good writing into great writing—catching typos, ensuring grammatical accuracy, and maintaining consistency throughout your manuscript.
With her natural “editor’s eye,” honed through decades of voracious reading, she gives your work the careful attention it deserves in its final stages. She understands that authors need an editor who respects their voice while ensuring their message comes through clearly and professionally.

She brings this curiosity to each client’s written creation to carefully unearth the potency of their words.
Her intention is to guide people toward what resonates most within them so they can embody the power and intuition of their most authentic self. When a writer can access this part of themselves, their words become medicinal as they share this authenticity with others.
