Press Release:

WISDOM PLUS PASSION: THE KEY TO ENTREPRENEURIAL SUCCESS

(Nashville, Tenn.) – The average length of a job held in America is now 2.2 years and the average length of a job for someone in his twenties is thirteen months. This may sound like bad news, but according to Dan Miller and Jared Angaza, co-authors of “Wisdom Meets Passion: When Generations Collide and Collaborate” (Thomas Nelson, ISBN # 970849947421, $16.99, August 2012), this is proof of a changing society, and what is the product of change? Progress.

This father-son team has a mutual passion for entrepreneurship and have each been incredibly successful in their endeavors. “Wisdom Meets Passion” reveals how they mixed Miller’s Baby Boomer wisdom with Angaza’s Generation Y passion to achieve their goals.

Dan Miller was raised in an extremely conservative, Mennonite home where he woke before dawn each morning to do farm chores. He was expected to continue the family tradition of farming, marry within the community and live a life like his father’s. However, Miller’s fiery spirit would lead him down a very different path: success in business and consulting. When he had a son, Jared, who showed the same fiery tendencies, Miller and his wife refused to stifle him or his creative whims. As a result, Jared is now a successful founder and owner of an ethical fashion label, KEZA, headquartered in Mombasa, Kenya.

Father and son achieved success by challenging social expectations and they encourage readers to do the same. In “Wisdom Meets Passion,” they ask questions like “Is a college education really necessary for success?” and “Is job security more important than job freedom?” They make statements like “Everyone currently has the job he believes he deserves” and “Winners quit. They quit quickly and often.” Enough to make baby boomers and members of Generation Y squirm, but Miller and Angaza flesh out their ideas in a way that ultimately inspires anyone seeking a career change or wanting to start his own business.

With the perspectives of two generations, this book offers twice the wisdom of the typical business title and does more than show readers how to double their income. It proves what Miller and Angaza’s mission statement is: “The wisdom of the past can blend with the passion of the current generation in accomplishments that are socially significant, humanitarian, noble, and purposeful and yet still personally and economically responsible.”

Dan Miller, president of 48 Days, specializes in creative thinking for increased personal and business success. He is the author of the widely acclaimed “48 Days To The Work You Love” and “No More Dreaded Mondays.” He writes for many popular magazines and web portals, has been a guest on CBS, MSNBC, The 700 Club, and The Dave Ramsey Show, and appears frequently on popular radio programs. Dan has been happily married to Joanne for over 44 years.

Jared Angaza is a lifelong social entrepreneur and philanthropist. In 2006, he moved to Rwanda and began a women’s empowerment aid agency called Sisters of Rwanda. Seeking a business partner who would share his passion for Africa and philanthropy, he not only found his partner, but also his wife, Ilea. Together they built KEZA, an ethical fashion label, and Angaza Philanthropy Consulting. Jared and Ilea recently moved to Kenya where they plan to set up the new KEZA headquarters.
