You know I’m an author, but what gives me the experience to write about the many options for publishing your book came from the process I took that wasn’t just handing it over to a publisher.

I did the hard work to get my own writing published, and along the way, I figured out all the necessary steps. My wife Joanne has always enjoyed writing and is really good at it. Now that I’ve figured it all out and gotten published, guess who publishes her “I Wanna Be…” series? Then there is my oldest son Kevin who enjoys writing too. You guessed it; he already has the domain names purchased for his first book effort. My son Jared lives in Mombasa, Kenya and chronicles his life of social entrepreneurship through writing.  We are combining writing efforts in a book that will show the necessity of blending wisdom and passion for success in any venture.   My daughter Ashley writes consistently for our 48 Days website as well as manages three family blogs and sites – the information packed in these is perfect fodder for her book ventures.

So am I a born writer and my family all has the same genetic makeup? NO. They have simply seen first hand that it’s not pie in the sky – it’s very possible. You don’t have to be a genius or take a year long sabbatical.
