= Dear = Kevin,

We are now entering the last third of this year. Have you checked to make = sure you have completed two thirds of your goals for this year? You don= =92t need to worry about little setbacks =96 just be looking at the big pic= ture. With big goals you may not be able to detect much progress in a week= or even a month =96 but if you are making deposits you=92ll be amazed at w= hat a quantum leap you can make in a year. And start planning now for the = plans you want to accomplish in 2008.

= Every week I hear from more people who have been unexpectedl= y fired or laid off. Yes, I know, the fancy terms like =93released to pursu= e other options,=94 or =93part of a reduction in force,=94 or =93promoted t= o the mobility pool=94 may not sound like =93You=92re Fired=94 but the feel= ing is the same.

So where do you go with that news =96 with the solid information that you= =92re of no value to the organization? Or what does that mean? Have you bee= n confronted with a dead-end; or given the opportunity to redefine your own= path to ultimate success?

I just wrote an article for the AARP magazine (Nov/Dec edition) and address= ed some key issues regarding unexpected change.

Our identity and sense of fulfillment cannot be dependent on a tradit= ional job.

Recognize the natural seasons in nature. When we see a tree with no leaves,= nothing but bare branches, we know that tree isn=92t dead. Rather, it=92s = in a particular season, and in that time the tree is reaching deep for nour= ishment and will blossom with new color and more growth in the springtime. = You can do the same in your own =93seasons.=94 Expect new vision, growth an= d fulfillment as you enter those new springtimes in your own life.

If we are paying attention, times of change can wake us up to our dreams an= d a calling that may be yet unfulfilled. Life experience is a wonderful tea= cher and clarifier. You may find that the retirement you are facing or the = job loss you=92ve experienced has been the jolt to re-awaken those early dr= eams and passions. Transitioning from a full career to the next season in y= our life may be just the opportunity to fully engage in your calling. For s= ome, it may be the first time in your life you=92ve had the time freedom to= allow that calling to blossom.

I love the stories of people who used being fired as a time to make a fresh= start in a more productive direction. J.K. Rowling was fired for writing s= hort stories on her computer. She used her severance pay to help finance th= e first Harry Potter novel. Now a billionaire, she=92s ranked as the world= =92s second-wealthiest female entertainer, after Oprah Winfrey.

Here are some other well-known individuals who were sent packing by a forme= r employer. But instead of singing the blues, they used the unexpected brea= k to get clear on some plans of their own.

= 2. 48 Days Online Radio -- Amish Version=20 <= /TD>
= Well, I had a wonderful 48 Days Radio Show scheduled = for this Tuesday night. I was going to have Joanne on as my guest to addre= ss the questions we get continuously about working together.

We were going to be talking about:
1. How a supportive spouse puts money in the bank =96 even if not =93worki= ng.=94
2. Why a =93job=94 is the best choice if you don=92t have a cheerleader at= home.
3. Managing work and family balance.

And I wanted you to submit questions either in advance or during the show. =

However, the new technology we are using to do the show and create the podc= ast has pretty well driven me nuts this week. It all sounds fancy and soph= isticated, but in reality I=92m convinced it=92s all held together with duc= t tape and baler twine. We=92re getting feedback that the latest and great= est makes us sound like I=92m in a phone booth, our primary teleseminar pro= vider site has been down this week and I'm beginning to suspect that all th= ese highly promoted web tools are nothing more than tins cans and string. = Thanks for all your great input =96 we are listening and experimenting.
I think I=92m gonna back to being Amish =96 how about if we all meet out ba= ck in the hayfield and just talk together. We=92ll have some hotdogs, sing= a little and share ideas face-to-face.

No radio show this week =96 I=92ve got to get this figured out.

= In July of 2006 Cassandra Dickerson joined us in Orlando, FL= for the MegaBook Marketing University. We were all enamored by her enthusi= asm and the clarity of what she wanted her first book to be.

And now it=92s finished. In Well Done: Lessons on Leaving = a Legacy Cassandra addresses questions like: Have we fulfilled God=92s = purpose for our being here? Have we lived and loved well? Are we leaving a = legacy?

You can also check out her website www.welldoneonline.com for more resource= s on leaving your own great legacy.

This is another example of having a clear idea, creating a plan of action a= nd then ACTING on that plan.
Dream, imagine, plan, act. That=92s the sequence for going from where you a= re to where you want to be.

= A recent college graduate was being interviewed for a job to= start September 1st. =93You=92ll get $650 a week to start off,=94 = the boss told him. =93Then in January that will be raised to $800 a wee= k.=94

=93That=92s great,=94
the prospect says. =93How about if I take tha= t European trip I=92ve been wanting and just come back in January?=94
