Know Thyself

John Maxwell says: “There are two great days in our lives – the day we are born and the day we discover why.” Can you identify both of those days in your life?
Dan did a podcast that turned into an incredible 48-minute audio on explaining how you can trust your uniqueness as the basis for meaningful work – and for living out your calling. Since Dan is still relaxing in Florida after the Wisdom Meets Passion Cruise last week, we decided to pull this gem out of the archives vault.

For another point of view on what Dan spoke on in this podcast regarding the story of David and Goliath, consider what Matt Chandler had to say about this very subject:
We run into problems when we try to read ourselves into the scriptures. The scriptures, Old and New Testaments, speak of Jesus Christ and the glorious work He has done on behalf of His church.

Thank you for pulling this podcast out of the vault. I loved what you shared about the differences in churches and from one to the other and the different requirements. It was very thought provoking.

You talked about The Holy Spirit! Right on ! I know I always need to be humbled and reminded of my place then seeing the gifts that I have been given and using them is more of a priority. Even proverbs can humble. I am for John 3:3 and Thank you and praying for your ministry to keep standing in love. Calvary Chapel is where I am involved.

Yes, your “notes” help greatly ( you asked) as I can get on the “Same Page” I am willing to listen and appreciate your two-three cents. Ps there is a “Goliath : Movie coming out this or next year

  • Dan, I know this episode was a bit off “left field” compared to what you typically do but I think it was one of the best ones I have heard from you. The fact that work should not just be a paycheck and that you have not only the opportunity but the RESPONSIBILITY to spend our working hours doing something that will elevate us to our higher calling is so true. Excellent!!

Luis – thanks so much for your comments!

Dan: you “knocked it out of the ball park” on this podcast. Without question, this was the best podcast I can remember from you, and I’ve listened to LOTS of them. I understand the possible controversy of the things you talk about, but I say “BRAVO!” No need to apologize for it. I think a gracious God would want more of us to think this way.
