You stated the answer to scaling as Christians well. We have to make sure we are grounded. Giving and generosity and some nice things should go up also. As Dave says, just because our budget increases does not mean that we have to start spending that much on food. I am going to go checkout that blog you wrote about surrounding yourself with “rich people.”
    Thank you Dan.

Great podcast as usual! This is the highlight of my week. Anyway, I listened to Seth Godin speak on the Eventual Millionaire today. I had heard the name but didn’t know anything about him. He is absolutely amazing – so smart and insightful! Anyway, his last piece of advice during the interview was to consider what you are afraid of, write it down, and make that your goal. He said money is just a by-product or a stand-in. To really do something important, you have to move towards your fear. I think what I am most afraid of is to stand out in some way, have a bunch of people looking at me, and then be found incompetent. That’s what makes me hesitate sometimes – I think “well, am I good enough? Do I know enough about that? What if someone asks me such and such.”

I loved that part too Raven! Seth is amazing. It’s also amazing how our brains work in the face of fear – we may know logically that “being good enough” can never be satisfied (except through a higher power) but we still give so much weight to it!

The first question sounds extremely interesting. I’m sure there will be lots of discussion about it. Can’t wait to listen and hear your thoughts Dan!

Great PC. Great quote by Eleanor Roosevelt and fear. Fear is one of most crippling emotions because it leads to inaction! Knowing we all struggle with fear helps me. I’m not in it alone. None of us are.

On #1 I think it’s fine to a certain extent. It’s unreasonable to think Christians should continue living like a broke college student forever, but that doesn’t mean we need to go out and build mansions for ourselves either.

Another fantastic show! Thank you so much for the links for pod-casts by women in business. Although I definitely appreciate the work of you and other men, it’s nice to hear from women in business, as we do juggle several things at the same time and sometimes need a different perspective. All the best to you and yours.

Fantastic Show! I listened to the last three shows back to back this weekend. My garage and mind are cleaner. My wife jumped into the blogging/podcasting world in late 2012. She and her friend podcast over at http://www.whatswiththedrama.com!

I honestly don’t know how to do things that scare me because I don’t like being scared. I am definitely not a risk taker.

As long as you’re living the life you want to live you don’t need to do anything different. I don’t want to risk missing anything so I’m always looking for new experiences.
