I don’t believe I have a “calling”

1. Envy and hate are so ugly and self-destructive – and blame doesn’t pay the bills.

2. Dan, I’d like to open an online bookstore. Would you start by……….

3. Is using words like “we” and “us” deceptive for a one-man business?

4. What resources would you recommend for someone wanting to pursue a lifelong dream of becoming a professional singer?

5. By the time I get home to my apartment, my bed is calling my name louder than my goals in life.

6. I now almost DON’T believe that God has a specific calling for me.

I totally can relate to Christine. I’m 45 years old and I’ve prayed and wanted God to give me a passion, a mission, and I still don’t have it. I’ve tried that thing where you say to yourself what would I do if I had un-limited financial resources…other than pay my bills I DON’T KNOW!!!! I’m so envious of people who KNOW what they were born to do. I’ve read The Purpose Driven Life so many times I feel like I could quote it. HELP and please expand on this subject more Dan.

Great job Dan! I wrote down 8 great points that you inspired today. It is going to be great to think through those points, and blog then out.

Let me know if you would like to see one.

    Thanks!

The part on books struck me. You obviously have your own material, but you can also add other material to the mix that fits well to other products. Amazon does the same with the “people who bought this also bought this.”
    Thanks for the information Sir.

    K, bye

Dan, I don’t know if you already know about this but there is a website that offers free online courses: https://www.coursera.org/courses. I thought this might be a nice resource for people who are still searching for their calling. There are so many different topics and you can try them out for free. You can find out what you’re naturally attracted to – and good at – in a no-risk fashion. As someone who has wasted way too much money on formal education I wish I had known about this resource sooner. Perhaps it can help someone else.

When you reference keeping the sunshine inside of you as one of Stephen Covey’s principles can you tell me which one? I’m very interested in this topic. Thank you.

      Melissa,
It’s not one of the 7 Habits – just a principle he talks about in the book.
