Hello Dan, I’ll make this short and well…short because it is surely not sweet. As you know I got a ton of information at Write to the Bank last year, but feel like I’m wearing lead boots every day. My life is crowded with life and I haven’t been able to gain traction. I still work full-time. My “boss” is not playing nice these days and I’m the dog sitting on the nail. There is sooo much to do….I need to go back to square one with “the writing and speaking thing”. Manifestation is in order. I don’t listen to the podcast…and there are some other “don’ts” too. (Shame on me…) Either slap my hand or gently guide me out of the forest….all these trees are in the way. I am better than this………… Marie

Oh your note is poignant, humorous, sad and transparent all at the same time. I love your writing style – always. But I
also recognize that writing well alone does not keep the lights on. In working with lots of writers I see more and more that it requires some of those other components of my Venn Diagram to make it work. Even at this point for me the income provided directly from my writing is a small part of my total income. The big chunks come from coaching, speaking and our live events.
Thus, I think getting out of those lead boots is going to require a business plan whereby you identify where that income is going to come from for you. The writing will help fuel your credibility but is not likely to be the key component for income generation.
If you are a writer, how have you created most of your income?
