You can be great!

I often wonder why some people rise to greatness and others seem to just get stuck in sameness.  Could this be a key element?

“It is the nature of man to rise to greatness if greatness is expected of him.” John Steinbeck

Are you expecting greatness out of the people around you – spouse, children, co-workers, employees?

Are you putting yourself around people who expect greatness out of you?

Love this short but VERY powerful and to the point post, Dan! I do believe I have some very inspiring friends of greatness, that are expecting great things of me. I like to think of you / those folks as “ambition ammunition!”

Archie – you are the master of expecting excellence in others and encouraging them to believe the same.

I am in a position where not much is expected of me. My greatest challenge is expecting great things of myself. Thankfully I married someone who cares about my goals and dreams. There are a few people to whom I am telling my goals. I also started an eagle group (thanks to you) with 2 other guys who do expect great things from me.

The trick was that I had to actually expect to find people who would expect great things out of me. I couldn’t just expect others to come to me first.

Bryan – that’s a great response. We can’t wait for someone to expect greatness of us.  We first expect it of ourselves and then find other people who are on the same path.
