Two greatest days in your life

John Maxwell is known for his books, seminars and speeches on Leadership.  In this month’s issue of SUCCESS magazine he talks about the two greatest days in our lives.

John says: “There are two great days in our lives – the day we are born and the day we discover why.”   Can you identify both of those days in your life?

Pretty timely for us. We are on day 4 of 48 Days and yesterday I feel like I had a breakthrough in the focus of my life’s work. After I got home from a meeting with a local homeschooling president I mentioned to my wife that it felt like one of the best days of my life. The inspiration for ideas has been pretty heavy just in the past week, and we are putting together some actino plans to make them happen.

Thanks for being a catalyst for excellence!

That’s awesome Bryan!  Is this just from the book or is there something else I’m missing?  Sorry I’m just brand new to this site.
      Thanks

A little bit of both. I am going through Dan’s materials and keeping up with the new stuff too.

What I suggest as someone new to the 48 Days process is to read the book (or books), listen to thetwo podcasts (48 Days and No More Mondays), keep up with the blog, and join the 48 day community (48Days.net). Once you start getting some of the ideas and material, make sure you start a 48 Day schedule (look for it in “useful resources under “resources at the top of the page here)

A huge part of what I am going through has to do with implementation and not just ideas. Like they talked about not too long ago on No More Mondays: “Even a brilliant idea is only worth 20-30$.” While some of what I am doing now is probably supposed to come later in the 48 Day scedule, it is only a guide. The key is to act on the ideas that are presented in Dan’s books and other materials.

Join up with 48Days.net, there are loads of others going through similar journeys. I’ll look for you there.

How profound. The similarity between those two days:
    1. We cry on both days;
    2. The world celebrates on both days – when we born and when we know why we were born.

I get so fired up when I the see what miracles happen, once someone takes the time to get in touch with and understand their “why”.

It’s usually not easy, and yes, it does take some work, but it is so worth it.

I can remember the exact location, and the situation when I realized my why.

For a while now, it’s been clear to us that my passion is bring clarity to single and married women, and to coach them forward, into the work and life they love.

We were at the tail-end of a somewhat challenging yoga and were now entering into the winding down, resting part of the class, (my favorite part).

I remember asking myself, “Why is it so important for me to help women gain in self confidence and to move themselves into a better place professionally, spiritually and emotionally?”

The answer came quickly and with great conviction: Because, as a child and teenager, I had seen my own mother struggle with many hardships.
