Note from Dan Miller:
The Unconventional Book Tour
We are proud to host Chris live at “The Sanctuary” on Wednesday, October 20th at 7pm CST. Space is limited, so read details below and RSVP now!
Note from Chris Guillebeau:
A book with its very own roadshow.
Greetings, friends and readers.
If we haven’t met before, I’m Chris Guillebeau. On September 7th my book, The Art of Non-Conformity (AONC), will launch into the world. A real-live book! I’m super excited. It’s all about world domination, setting your own rules, and making a lasting difference. All good things for my kind of people.
I usually visit at least 20 countries a year, but in the fall of 2010, I’m scaling down. Sort of.
Instead of seeing the world… I’ll be visiting all 50 states in the U.S. Then in January 2011, I’ll visit all 10 provinces in Canada. Throw in San Fran + L.A., Houston + Dallas, and Washington, D.C., and you’ve got a total of 63 cities.
It’s a book tour like no other – self-funded, collectively-organized, and most importantly of all – not boring. There’s only one problem… I need help!
AONC is a force for positive change with the
goal of helping at least 100,000 people live
unconventional, remarkable lives. We’re just
getting started… much more is on the way.
More From Dan:
As mentioned above, I read the book and was intrigued with the concept and the tour. When I saw Chris was planning on visiting Memphis, Tennessee in his cross-country tour, I sent him a note to come to Franklin — and I’m delighted that he has agree to do so! We’re excited to have him and see what fun he has to share. You can read more about how it works on Chris’s site here.

Reviews on the book:
“Chris Guillebeau is the Indiana Jones of career experts. With his signature insight and humor, he tackles a critical question: How do we forge the life of our dreams in the face of overwhelming pressure to conform and avoid risks? In The Art of Non-Conformity, Chris adds a fresh perspective, drawn from his non-conforming adventures, to the lively debate. Those who follow Chris’s wildly popular blog will welcome these ideas in the more comprehensive book form—or give it as a gift to people who need it.”
-Gretchen Rubin, author of The Happiness Project
“This is a direct, honest and truly scary book. I hope you have the guts to listen to what Chris has to say, and not become one of the monkeys he warns you about.”
-Seth Godin, author of Linchpin
“Do not be surprised if you start noticing the guy next to you in the coffee shop or the woman seated across the aisle on your plane intently reading a battered copy of The Art of Non-Conformity. It’s not just a book, after all, it’s a beloved companion for those who know that life is an adventure worth exploring.”
-Barbara J. Winter, author of Making a Living Without a Job
