Dan Interviews Author Laurie Beth Jones

Laurie Beth Jones has been called by Ken Blanchard and others “One of the Great Thought Leaders of Our Time.”

“In this 30-minute interview I probe into the core concepts of Laurie Beth’s newest book – Jesus, Career Counselor.  I’ve admired her work since the publication of The Path, back in 1997.  That book helped me shape my own teaching about finding our purpose and mission.” ~Dan Miller

In this segment you’ll hear Laurie Beth address these issues and more:

  • While unemployment is high, more people are quitting their jobs than are being laid off.  Are these people crazy or is it really possible to find new opportunities that “fit” our calling – even now?
  • You describe that you find “work” or a “job” only after you find your Vocation.  Does everyone have a “Calling?”
  • You say that most famous biblical characters had uneven careers.  Does that indicate that we should expect the same?
  • Isn’t work a curse from God – and something from which we should escape into retirement as quickly as possible?
  • In Jesus Career Counselor you describe 4 Personalities: Fire, Water, Earth and Wind.  Can you explain the characteristics of each of these personalities?
  • In your book you lay out three criteria for the desired model of being a “spiritreneur.”  Those are:
    1. I am doing work that honors God
    2. I am doing work that honors who I am
    3. I am making a living doing so

Many people seem to hope they won’t have to include item #3.  Help us understand the blending of these three.
